[Solved] USB Gamepad detected but not working

Post by IvanVN » 24. Jan 2018, 16:57

I’m trying to use an old Logitech gamepad on a virtual machine. When plugged, the joystick is captured and correctly appears as /dev/input/js2. Also, jstest-gtk reconises it as a 4 axis, 12 button controller. However, no button press or axis movement is detected, nor anything is showed if I cat /dev/input/js2.

Dmesg on guest system reports an error when plugging the gamepad:

[ 1520.599847] usb 2-2: USB disconnect, device number 4 [ 1526.716154] usb 2-2: new full-speed USB device number 5 using ohci-pci [ 1526.978564] usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c216 [ 1526.978574] usb 2-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 1526.978580] usb 2-2: Product: Logitech Dual Action [ 1526.978585] usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Logitech [ 1537.011586] hid-generic 0003:046D:C216.0004: usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed: -1 [ 1537.011995] hid-generic 0003:046D:C216.0004: timeout initializing reports [ 1537.012189] input: Logitech Logitech Dual Action as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/usb2/2-2/2-2:1.0/input/input10 [ 1537.033303] hid-generic 0003:046D:C216.0004: input,hidraw1: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [Logitech Logitech Dual Action] on usb-0000:00:06.0-2/input0

The gamepad works perfectly in the host system. Any help with be greatly appreciated.

How many brackets and uprights will you need?

Once you’ve decided on the colour and size of your brackets and uprights you’ll just need to decide how many you’re going to need.

As a guideline, we recommend at least 2 uprights for the first 100cm of shelf length and then at least one further upright for every additional 50cm or so of shelf length. Your may want to have more uprights than this if your shelves are going to be holding a lot of weight. There is more information about this on our FAQs page here: Practical Shelf FAQs or don’t hesitate to contact us; we’re really happy to help!
